Lille restarts negotiations for Hamza Igamane: an imminent transfer from Rangers

LOSC Lille has decided to reignite discussions for the transfer of Hamza Igamane, the 22-year-old Moroccan striker currently playing for Rangers FC. After several weeks of an open file, negotiations between Lille and the Scottish club have resumed strongly, with an agreement on an offer close to £15 million, potentially including bonuses. This amount represents a significant profit for Rangers, who had acquired Igamane only a year earlier for £1.7 million.

The context of this transfer is marked by a tense situation between the player and his current club. Igamane was sidelined from Rangers’ training after refusing to come on as a substitute during the match against St Mirren, citing a supposed injury. This incident weakened the relationship with manager Russell Martin and reinforced the player’s desire to join Lille. Igamane is keen to make this move, supporting the relaunch of negotiations with the French club.

While Lille and Rangers actively discuss, specialized media suggest a high probability that the transfer will be finalized before the end of the transfer window. Lille, which had already made a loan offer rejected by the Scots, now seems ready to conclude a permanent transfer. Meanwhile, Feyenoord also shows interest in Igamane, but LOSC appears to be in pole position to secure the Moroccan striker’s services.

This operation fits Lille’s intention to strengthen its attack with a promising young talent, while Rangers will seek to reinforce their squad in return with other player profiles. The imminent departure of Hamza Igamane should enable both clubs to finalize a beneficial deal, ending a difficult period for the player at Ibrox. Official announcements could be expected in the coming days.
