Chelsea: Nicolas Jackson close to leaving, Aston Villa out of the race

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson appears to be on the verge of an imminent departure, with his transfer potentially being made official within the next 48 hours, according to his agent Diomansy Kamara.

The Senegalese forward, who has scored 30 goals in two seasons excluding penalties, has been clearly placed on the transfer list by coach Enzo Maresca, who does not plan to count on him this season. Several European clubs, including sides from the Premier League, Bundesliga, and Serie A, have expressed interest in signing him.

Chelsea initially set a high asking price of between €80 and €100 million for Jackson, but the valuation has since dropped to around €60 million — a figure the club still considers significant given the limited time left before the summer transfer window closes. However, no club has yet submitted an offer that meets the club’s expectations, delaying the conclusion of the deal.

Aston Villa, who had shown initial interest in Jackson, have now withdrawn from negotiations, mainly due to Chelsea’s asking price, deemed too high for the Villans, according to the British press. The Birmingham club is now exploring other options, notably regarding Christopher Nkunku, another Chelsea player. Meanwhile, clubs such as Newcastle and Bayern Munich remain very active in the chase for Jackson, the latter viewing him as a quality striker capable of strengthening their attack.

Jackson’s transfer is seen as a key issue for Chelsea in order to finalize other summer moves, notably the arrival of young talents such as Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho. The Senegalese’s departure would allow the London club to secure the necessary funds to continue reinforcing the squad. For Jackson himself, leaving has become essential in pursuit of more regular playing time away from Stamford Bridge, making the coming week decisive for his future.
