Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana Returns to the Transfer Market After Leaving USM Alger

Burundian striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has become a free agent again after departing from USM Alger, the Algerian club with which he had been under contract since February 2025. This departure, confirmed during the night of August 15 to 16, 2025, brings an end to a brief collaboration that lasted only seven months, during which he scored three goals in 17 appearances for the Algiers-based team.

The 27-year-old player, formerly a top scorer for South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs, did not manage to establish himself permanently at USM Alger. This is especially true given the club’s significant squad renewal ahead of the new season, partly due to new restrictions on foreign player quotas in the Algerian Ligue 1. This restructuring led to an amicable separation between USM Alger and Bimenyimana, who is now seeking a new professional challenge.

Bimenyimana’s career is marked by numerous short stints with different clubs across Africa and the Middle East, and he may soon join his 12th professional club. After a brief experience in Iran and a season with the Kaizer Chiefs, his career shows a frequent change of environment, a factor that could play a key role in his next transfer negotiations.

This news has caught the attention of African football observers who closely follow player movements in the August 2025 transfer market. Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana’s immediate availability might attract offers from clubs looking for an experienced striker to strengthen their squad before domestic championships begin.
