Despite interest from Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen, Mohammed Amoura is not expected to leave Wolfsburg

Mohammed Amoura, the 25-year-old Algerian forward currently playing for VfL Wolfsburg, is attracting strong interest from major European clubs such as Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen. After an impressive season in the Bundesliga with around 10 goals and numerous assists, a summer transfer seems unlikely due to a recent thigh injury that has reduced his availability.

Moreover, a release clause estimated around €40 million complicates the negotiations. Wolfsburg, having exercised their purchase option following a successful loan, is holding out for a high fee, which is considered steep by potential suitors. This high price tag combined with uncertainty about Amoura’s fitness has cooled interest from clubs.

Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen, as well as other English and German clubs like Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, and Eintracht Frankfurt have shown interest, attracted by Amoura’s pace, versatility, and game impact. However, talks remain at an exploratory stage with no concrete offers yet.

At 25 years old and under contract until 2029, Amoura is expected to prioritize full recovery before moving on to another club. As a result, this summer may see less transfer activity for the Algerian international, whose performances promise a bright future once back in form.
