The Nations League Cup match between Manchester United U21 and Tamworth was cut short following a serious incident. Late in the first half, 19-year-old Malian midfielder Sékou Koné collapsed on the pitch after a violent collision with an opposing player.
He was quickly attended to by the medical staff before being stretchered off and taken to hospital for further examinations.
Manchester United reassured fans in a statement:
“Sekou is conscious, stable, and communicating with our medical team.”
As a precaution, the match was officially abandoned.
