Mahamadou Nagida: A fresh start in Belgium for the Rennes young left-back?

Although Mahamadou Nagida is still tied to Stade Rennais until 2028, the 20-year-old left-back might leave the club this summer. The Cameroonian player is seeking more playing time to elevate his development. After making 14 appearances and scoring 2 goals last season, Nagida is eager for a bigger role.

According to sources, a promising opportunity is emerging in Belgium. Cercle Bruges, a Jupiler Pro League club competing for a spot in the Champions League group stages, is showing strong interest. A one-season paid loan deal is being considered, which would grant Nagida regular minutes and allow him to return to Rennes with valuable experience.

With strong competition in the Rennes squad for the full-back positions, a loan seems like the best way not to hinder his progression. A graduate of the Brasseries Academy in Cameroon, Nagida has already demonstrated solid defensive and offensive skills despite his young age.

This potential move to Belgium could be a perfect stepping stone for Nagida, who hopes to firmly establish himself professionally and possibly open new doors in the future, including in the Premier League where interest has also been reported.
