Abdoulaye Fall has taken the helm of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), succeeding Augustin Senghor, who held the position for 15 years.
The election took place late Saturday night after a tense voting day marked by disagreements over the voting process and temporary suspensions of the proceedings. Despite these disruptions, the vote was ultimately completed.
Out of 509 ballots recorded, 461 delegates cast their votes in the first round. The results were as follows:
- Abdoulaye Fall: 301 votes
- Mady Touré: 116 votes
- Augustin Senghor: 92 votes
- Oumar Ndiaye: 1 vote
- Aliou Goloko: 0 votes
Since no candidate secured the required two-thirds majority (334 votes), a second round was held between the top two contenders: Abdoulaye Fall and Mady Touré. The runoff ended with a decisive victory for Abdoulaye Fall, who garnered 322 votes against Mady Touré’s 30, officially becoming the new president of the FSF.
