Ahmed Hassan Kouka Heads to Saudi Arabia: A New Challenge with Al-Ettifaq

Free after leaving Le Havre, Egyptian striker Ahmed Hassan Kouka is set to join Saudi club Al-Ettifaq. With medical tests completed successfully, this transfer marks a new chapter for the experienced international forward.

After a solid half-season in France’s Ligue 2, playing sixteen games and scoring three key goals for Le Havre, Ahmed Hassan Kouka is moving to Saudi Arabia. His contract having expired at the end of last season, the 32-year-old forward will join Al-Ettifaq on a free transfer, signing an initial one-year deal.

Kouka arrived at Le Havre in January 2025 to strengthen their attack in the battle against relegation and fulfilled his mission, praised by the Normandy club’s official statement. Notably, he scored a decisive penalty in a famous away win at Lens.

Before finalizing the transfer, the Egyptian striker successfully passed his medical examinations in Portugal, a mandatory step before his official signing with the Saudi club. Al-Ettifaq opted for Kouka following the collapse of a deal for Luuk de Jong, highlighting Kouka’s international experience gained in France, Greece, and Portugal.

This new challenge in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly developing league offers Kouka the opportunity to showcase his skills on another continent and to bring his experience to a club eager to strengthen its offensive line.

In brief, Ahmed Hassan Kouka leaves French Ligue 2 for Al-Ettifaq, aiming to continue shining and contributing to his new club’s success.
