Reda Slim Set to Join Qatar SC: A Decisive Turn in His Summer Transfer Saga

After weeks of unsuccessful negotiations with Moroccan clubs, Reda Slim, the Moroccan striker at Al Ahly, is now close to signing with Qatar Sports Club. His agent confirmed progress in talks, marking a key milestone in this much-followed transfer window.

The Reda Slim transfer saga is nearing its conclusion. The Moroccan forward, currently playing for Egypt’s Al Ahly, is about to join Qatar Sports Club this summer transfer window. His agent confirmed that the player is attracted to the Qatari project and that a concrete offer has been made to Al Ahly, with final approval pending.

For weeks, Slim was targeted by several prominent Moroccan clubs including Raja Casablanca, Wydad, and RS Berkane. However, all these moves stalled due to high financial demands. Al Ahly reportedly demanded about $500,000 even for a loan deal, an amount deemed excessive by Moroccan clubs whose offers were mainly for permanent transfers and fell short.

Negotiations with Wydad ended abruptly after the club insisted that Al Ahly cover 30% of Slim’s salary, a condition refused by the Egyptian club. Meanwhile, Al Ahly is pushing to finalize Slim’s departure, as he no longer features in the coach’s plans and has struggled for playing time given the limited slots for foreign players. His departure would free a foreign spot ahead of the new season.

At 23 years old, Slim still has three years left on his contract with Al Ahly and earns around $2.1 million annually, which represents a significant financial burden for the club.

The official announcement of Slim’s transfer to Qatar SC could happen in the coming days after administrative details are settled. This new chapter in Qatar should give Reda Slim a fresh chance to revive his career and secure more playing time in a growing league.
