Sevilla FC Targets Abdoulaye Touré, Guinean Rising Star

Free since June and coming off a remarkable season at Le Havre, Abdoulaye Touré is attracting serious interest from Sevilla FC, which aims to strengthen its midfield with an experienced and physical profile. A one-year contract with an option is under consideration amid competition, notably from Turkey.

Guinean midfielder Abdoulaye Touré, now a free agent after his contract with Le Havre ended, is at the center of multiple summer transfer interests in 2025. Following an outstanding Ligue 1 season with 10 goals in 28 matches and being named Le Havre’s best player, the 31-year-old is notably attracting Sevilla FC’s attention as they seek strong reinforcements for their midfield.

Under sporting director Antonio Cordón and coach Matías Almeyda, the Andalusian club favors a mature player with an imposing physique (1.88 m), tactical discipline, and proven leadership. Touré has stood out especially for his calmness in penalty situations — including a decisive Panenka penalty securing Le Havre’s stay in Ligue 1 — making him a highly valuable asset at a reduced cost, valued at €3 million yet currently free.

Promising talks between Touré’s representatives and Sevilla’s management have surfaced, with an offer on the table for a one-year deal plus an option for an additional season. Financial details remain undisclosed. The proposal faces direct competition from Turkish club Fenerbahçe, coached by José Mourinho, who are also pursuing Touré.

Touré appears to prioritize a competitive sporting project, ready to move from Ligue 1 to a higher-profile environment in Spain. His midfield versatility, European experience, physical and mental attributes could make him a key figure in Sevilla’s lineup next season. Beyond defensive solidity, he contributed offensively with goals and assists last season.

As the transfer window heats up, signing Touré would be a smart acquisition for Sevilla, combining sporting quality with an economic opportunity by signing a top-level player without a transfer fee. The question remains whether Sevilla can finalize the deal against rising competition and offer 31-year-old Touré a fresh European challenge.
