Official Transfer: Rayan Aït-Nouri joins Manchester City! The Citizens land a major Algerian international

Manchester City have scored a major success in the summer transfer window by signing rising Algerian star Rayan Aït-Nouri from Wolverhampton. The Premier League giants reached an agreement with Wolves for a deal worth between €40 and €50 million including bonuses, adding one of Africa’s brightest defensive prospects. At 24, Aït-Nouri stood out last season with four goals and seven assists in 41 games across all competitions, confirming his status as a key player.

Pep Guardiola’s side had been lacking a true left-back since Benjamin Mendy’s departure, and now turn confidently to Aït-Nouri, renowned for his technique, tactical awareness, and attacking flair. The former Angers SCO player has penned a five-year deal keeping him at City until 2030, and will be eligible to play in the Club World Cup with his new team this summer.

The transfer represents a strong financial move for Wolves, who initially signed Aït-Nouri from Angers for €11.5 million in 2020. Angers SCO will also benefit, with a sizeable sell-on clause included in the previous deal with Wolves.

With this signing, Manchester City are making a bold statement of intent for reclaiming the Premier League and challenging for Europe’s biggest prizes, placing their faith in new African talent. Following in the footsteps of Riyad Mahrez, Aït-Nouri will now add his name to the roster of Algerian internationals making an impact at the Etihad under Guardiola.
